Message ASHSPEC EXHAUST MANIFOLD GROUPBUY #2.

OK My Z friends, it is time for round two of the new exhaust manifolds! I have gone through the nwe sample sets that were sent to us to carefully inspect them and these bad boys are right on the money this time.

The previous sets from the old foundry required an enormous amount of deburring/deflashing to clean them up to deliverable quality but these manifolds have a much higher finish quality than the originals.

Additionally, all of the new tooling has already been manufactured as well as the final machining jigs and programming of the CNC machines to do the machine work. From this point, the lead time is significantly reduced so we are looking at 35-40 days for them to produce a large batch.

I am opening up only 20 slots for the exhaust manifold groupbuy which will also come with the thermal jackets at no additional charge, just like what was done on the first run. This will be the last run where the jackets come free of charge. These will be a $125 option for all sets thereafter.

A recap of just some of the ridiculous efforts that went into the development of these exhaust manifolds for those who weren't around back when I spent months of time on this...

All of the models, and computational modeling, fabrications, bench testing appointments, etc., was done, painstakingly, by yours truly...
Extensive modeling of the VG30DETT cylinder head and GT30 turbocharger to check for fitment.

Extensive modeling and computational flow modeling performed to produce an accurate model of the combustion chamber, exhaust valves, and exhaust ports for use in modeling flow into the manifold runners.

Drawings were then 3D printed for real-world fitment check.

An actual single cylinder head was cut out for flow testing on a flowbench to produce accurate flow testing variables.

Samples were produced in cast iron and then taken to a Superflow 600 flowbench where flow testing was performed.

Take a look through the images I have assembled into this post. There are also some videos showing the actual modeling at some points to give you an idea of to what extent this project progressed to in order to produce the absolute best of the best part that can be achieved.

Driver Front: 279.3 cfm
Driver Center: 284.7 cfm
Driver Rear: 281.5 cfm
Passenger Front: 284.4 cfm
Passenger Center: 286.5 cfm
Passenger Rear: 285.7 cfm
Maximum deviation between any two cylinders: 7.2 cfm, 2.6%.

Driver Front: 241.6 cfm
Driver Center: 237.1 cfm
Driver Rear: 238.6 cfm
Passenger Front: 219.1 cfm
Passener Center: 231.1 cfm
Passenger Rear: 228.1 cfm
Maximum deviation between any two cylinders: 19.5cfm, 7.2%.
Total average flow of AshSPEC manifolds: 283.7 cfm
Total average flow of MS manifolds: 232.6 cfm
Percentage gain in flow of AshSPEC manifolds: 22%
